The number of sessions needed depends on your condition and current state of health. Some people only require 1-2 sessions while others require several sessions. Adjustments sometimes make a popping sound due to gases (nitrogen) rushing in to fill the partial vacuum created when joints move. Not all chiropractic adjusting techniques cause this popping noise. The popping noise does not necessarily mean the adjustment was successful and the lack of noise does not mean the adjustment was not successful. Some people never have this “popping” sound no matter what technique is used. If this noise is bothersome, other techniques can be used which never cause this popping sound.

No. Older patients are adjusted differently than younger patients and infants are adjusted differently than older children. Each technique used is determined based on what each individual needs as well as the age and overall health of the patient.

Sometimes back pain will disappear after just one chiropractic adjustment and other times it takes a series of adjustments and other therapies to remove the back pain.

No, you cannot learn to adjust yourself. Grabbing your head and turning it to get that popping sound can cause harm or hypermobility (too much movement) to a joint. The same thing can happen when twisting to “pop” your own back. Only a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic can determine how, where, when and when not to adjust.

No. Most of the time patients can be treated when fully clothed. If skin contact needs to be made for an examination and or treatment, gowns and shorts will be given to make the patient more comfortable. Undergarments can always be kept on under gowns and shorts.

Yes. Dr. Wardie has 6 children of his own and has adjusted some of them from the day they were born and others from the time they were very young. Dr. Wardie has a lot of experience working on children.
